Change Maker Workshop

Day 2 of the change maker workshop focused on “Planning for the Future,” primarily revolving around waste management in Kulhudhufushi.

The morning began with a presentation of the Kulhudhufushi Waste Audit results , aiming to establish a shared understanding of the local waste problem through data. This was followed by a discussion on Levels of Sustainability, to set a baseline for Kulhudhufushi’s sustainability efforts.

The afternoon continued with a presentation from WAMCO. The core of the afternoon involved reviewing Kulhudhufushi’s draft Waste Management Plan. Participants engaged in group work to analyze the plan, aligning it with sustainability targets and identifying any gaps. The day concluded with efforts to finalize the Plan allowing participants further opportunity to review, align with sustainability targets, and discuss any remaining gaps in the draft Waste Management Plan.

Day 1 of the Change Maker Workshop in Kulhudhuffushi, organized by MACCS in collaboration with Soneva Namoona as part of the SACEP Please Project, is officially underway! Today kicked off with a warm introduction from Soneva Namoona, followed by a welcoming note from the Deputy Mayor of Kulhudhuffushi Council. A true highlight was the diverse participation from key stakeholders across the community, including representatives from government institutions, schools, various State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs), and local businesses. Their presence truly underscores the collective commitment to building a sustainable future for Kulhudhuffushi. We’re looking forward to three more engaging days of collaboration and learning!
